Best Pinterest Marketing Strategies: Use Tailwind
Tailwind is a tool with which you can easily schedule your pins. For example, I post 50 pins every day for both my blogs and that is easy with a tool such as Tailwind. This tool not only ensures that your pins are automatically published, but it also ensures the best times, optimizes your boards and you can also become a member of Tailwind tribes, so you can easily bring your pins to the attention of other people.
Video pins
Video pins are fairly new on Pinterest and if you already regularly use videos, then this is really recommended.
Of course, make sure that you don’t immediately show your entire video, but, for example, show a small preview (of the nicest part of your video, for example), which makes people curious. Eventually, they will click through to your video.
Pictures and descriptions
Pinterest is smart and so smart that it can recognize your images and descriptions. Pinterest uses different methods to find out exactly what your pin is about, such as keywords, your photo, hashtags and more!
The photo that you use on your pin is therefore very important.
I have already made this mistake before because I often used random photos that didn’t fit my post at all. For example, you have a blog about blogging and you post a pin with an animal on it. That, of course, doesn’t fit together at all and that is why Pinterest gets confused about what your pin is really about.
Best Pinterest Marketing Strategies: hashtags
Hashtags are important and that is why you must regularly use hashtags for your Pinterest pins. These hashtags also make sure that Pinterest knows what your pin is about and you should therefore not leave these hashtags out.
It is important to use a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 hashtags. However, these hashtags really need to match the pin. For example, if you have a lifestyle blog, don’t use the general hashtag #lifestyle, but be more specific.
Relevant keywords
I can’t repeat it enough: keywords are so important on Pinterest.
Of course, don’t use too many keywords, but certainly not too little. Choose a number of keywords and then make a few sentences with these keywords. So don’t just put a number of keywords in your description, but make sure it really makes sense.
To find keywords easily, I always type the subject of my pin in the search bar and then the most commonly used keywords come up. See the photo above for an example of these keywords.

Frequently new pins
Make sure you regularly make new pins. And I don’t only mean for new posts, but also for existing posts that perform well.
New pins always work very well on Pinterest and if you post these new pins every week, you will get more traffic to your blog.
Best Pinterest Marketing Strategies: Pins for mobile
Many people use Pinterest on mobile and that is why it is also important that you optimize your pins for mobile.
As you can see in the picture above, 47.1% of people use an iPhone and 35.7% use an Android phone. 13.1% also use the mobile web version.
That is why it is important that you also check whether the pin on your phone looks good. You can do this very simply by actually opening the pin on your phone.
