Everyone wants more blog visitors and people quickly think of social media or other ways to increase your blog traffic. Yet it is smarter to also address the core. For example, the title of your blog post plays a very big role. To really boost your blog traffic you need catchy title ideas to get more people clicking on your links. You will get these ideas and also a freebie in this blog post!
Why is a title so important?
If you have clicked on this blog post, you probably already know how important a catchy title is. A title should appeal to people, it should give people a reason to click on your blog post.
Creating good titles is super important of course. It lets your blog traffic grow and it makes people share your post more. A title is just super important and you can’t just skip it.

So.. How do you make a good blog post title?
Use adjectives:
Let’s analyze two titles:
- 10 tips to grow your blog traffic
- 10 genius tips to explode your blog traffic.
People are more likely to click on the second title and actually only by one word: genius. Try to make your titles as good as possible. So for example, instead of the word ‘grow’ the word ‘explode’. In addition, the use of adjectives is really a must.
For example:
Irresistible, Outrageous, Fantastic, Controversial, Fascinating, Epic, Powerful, Great, Genial, Gigantic ..
Be honest and precise
Please, be honest. Don’t make a title that you can’t make true and try not to make a real “Click Bait” title. Sometimes I see titles pass by, which actually have nothing to do with the content. Then, of course, I immediately click away again, because I was looking for the content the title said. It is, of course, the intention that your blog traffic stays on your website and click through to another blog posts or affiliate link.
Don’t make your title too long
People who use the Yoast Seo plugin probably already know this, but it is very important that you don’t make your title too long. Try to keep your title between 50-60 characters and really not more. If you make a title too long, then that part of your title is not visible and of course, then your title has no use. So, make sure that your title is not too long!

Learn for others
You probably have bloggers that you look up to. You know these bloggers are doing well, but you don’t really understand why. Your title is, of course, a very important part of your blog post, because people need to click on your title. You can look at your competition to see how they build up titles and why people click on them. Of course, Don’t take over titles literally but just look at the elements that make up those titles. This way you will get really catchy blog title ideas.
Make use of numbers
Numbers are really everyone’s friends, believe me. By using numbers, people are more likely to click on a blog post because people know what they are going to encounter. So try to use as many numbers as possible in your titles.

You’re absolutely right in saying that to really boost your blog traffic you need catchy title ideas to get more people clicking on your links.
One of our goals as bloggers or writers is to craft captivating or irresistible headlines. These are headlines that stir up the readers’ curiosity, and make them want to read your blog post.
One of my top tips for writing irresistible headlines is to create a virtual infinite irresistible headlines swipe file.
Yes, there’s a swipe file made up of tested and proven headlines written by some of the best paid copywriters in the world. And best thing about it? It’s free. It’s even at your fingertips. Just google Cosmopolitan magazine covers, Reader’s Digest magazine covers, Psychology Today magazine covers, Money magazine covers or Elle magazine covers; click on ‘image’ and you will have access to some of the best and most irresistible headlines ever crafted. These headlines are so good, they make us instantly want to pick up and buy these magazines on impulse.
As a copywriter, this is my virtual headline swipe copy file which I visit whenever I need inspiration for irresistible headlines. However, I don’t just copy and paste them. I use them as idea starters. I copy them with taste. And that’s what I recommend for every blogger!
