Choosing a blog name isn’t easy. You have to think about it because you can’t change this name right away. It is therefore important that you immediately choose a good and strong name. Wondering how you do that? Then read this blog.

Choosing a blog name
If you don’t have a domain name yet, then definitely check out these hostings:

Requirements
The domain name needs to be available
I assume that this speaks for itself, but you never know. Of course, a domain name must be available. The domain name must be the same as your blog name. I advise you to take a look at Siteground or Bluehost and see if your domain name is available. If you want to know more about Bluehost, please read this article.
Social media accounts need to be available
It is important that your social media accounts match your blog name. I didn’t think about this when I started blogging on The Beautyboulevard and sometimes this is simply impossible. With Namechk you can check if these social media accounts are still available. Once you know a blog name, make sure you also claim these social media accounts. Nothing is as annoying as a social media name that has already been claimed.
Pronounceable
I sometimes come across domain names which don’t make sense. Your blog name must be recognizable and it isn’t when you can’t even pronounce the blog name.

Handy tools
I find it very difficult to think of good names, especially when it comes to something as important as a blog name. When I had to choose my blog name, I used a number of tools.
Lean Domain Search
With this tool, you start with a keyword, for example, the subject you are going to blog about. Let’s say, food. With this tool, you will get hundreds of ideas for your domain name. You can order these alphabetically.
Besides that you can:
- Save your favorite domain name
- Check your search history
- Share your domain names
Choosing a blog name with Bust a Name
This actually looks a bit like the previous tool, but with a few more options. You can use this tool to indicate how your domain name should end. You can also indicate how “natural” your domain name should look like and you can also indicate how many letters the domain name must have. You can combine this tool with the previous tool for example!
Shopify Business Name Generator
This tool looks like the first tool and you definitely should compare these two tools. This tool is linked to Shopify, but you can also use this tool for your blog.
Choosing a blog name with Domain Puzzler
This tool really has a lot of options. In this tool you can, for example, enter a number of keywords and it will then also combine these keywords. You can also use this tool to compare the page rank with other domain names. This last option is really useful!
More tips from experience
You don’t just choose a blog name. Sometimes it really comes to you spontaneously, like The Blog Boss. However, sometimes you can’t think of a name. It can, therefore, help to ask other people for ideas. You might be stuck, but other people can easily get an idea.
Doubt between a number of domain names
If you doubt between a number of domain names, let other people choose. For example, you can use my Facebook group to ask for suggestions or of course you can ask your friends.
An English name?
When I started blogging on The Beautyboulevard, I didn’t know that I wanted to blog in English as well. I am so happy that I already had an English name and that I didn’t have to change this name. So, if you are thinking about blogging in English, then make sure you already have an English name. That just saves so much time.
Claim your name!
Have you thought of a good name? Then claim your name immediately! It can happen that your name is suddenly claimed when you wait for a while. I recommend Bluehost to claim your name. If you want to blog on WordPress, then it is recommended to use a hosting like Bluehost. This is very easy and fast!
