The costs of a blog like hosting
Bloggers actually only have one big expense and that’s hosting. Of course, you can also start a blog totally for free, but this has a couple of disadvantages. Luckily, I have written a blog post about these disadvantages. Are you hesitating between having a free or self-hosted blog? Then definitely read this article.

I actually recommend one hosting and that’s Bluehost. I will talk about this hosting below.
Must read: The best hosting for bloggers
Bluehost
Bluehost is a hosting established in England. It is an amazing hosting and also super cheap!
The prices of Bluehost are very low. For only 5.30 euros each month you will get reliable hosting with a lot of options. For example, you will get a free SSL certificate, which is really handy!

Costs of a blog > Additional Costs
The costs of hosting are therefore the costs that you really have to make if you want to start a blog. In addition, there are a number of additional costs that you can incur to give your blog a good start.
Costs of a blog > Theme
WordPress has free themes, but I definitely recommend looking at a premium theme. These themes don’t have to be expensive and they also have so many more options than free themes.
These are a couple of websites where you can buy amazing premium themes:
- Elegant Themes is a website full of amazing themes. If you are looking for an amazing theme, then this website is a real recommendation. Definitely take a look at the Divi theme. That’s the page builder I have used to create this website.
- Creative Market is a website with a lot of nice themes, but also other things, like pin templates, stock photos and more!
- MyThemeShop is a website like Creative Market. You can buy themes here for your blog. This webshop just has a lot of beautiful themes for a great price!

Tailwind
If I need to recommend one social media scheduler, then I would definitely recommend Tailwind. Tailwind is a program for Pinterest to schedule your pins.
