Creating a media kit is very important to do, even if you are just a starting blogger. A media kit is a document which you can send to press, companies and other people who are interested. This document contains information about your blog and you can give this, for example, when you want to collab with a company. You can make a media kit in a lot of ways, but what is the easiest way? You read that in this blog!
What is a media kit?
A media kit is a document where you can put your statistics, followers and other information about your blog. Your document actually shows who you are and what your blog stands for. With your document, you actually show your potential and how you stand.
A media kit can be one page, but also multiple pages. Actually, you should see your document as the resume for your blog. The length of your document actually depends on how much you have to tell and this can, of course, depend on how long you have been blogging.

What do I need to put in my media kit?
This isn’t really that difficult at all, but of course, you have to know it. It is important that you put a short bio about your blog in your document and some information about why the company should work with you.
In your document, you can also put what your prices are and what services you offer. For example, in my media kit, it states how many followers I have on social media and my blog stats of course.
Creating a media kit. How do you do that?
There is a very handy (and free!) program to make a media kit. To explain this process I will show you how I made my own media kit for The Blog Boss step by step.
The first thing you do is going to a website called Canva. When you go to this website, you must first create an account. This is free. Once you have done this, you end up on your dashboard. The easiest thing to do is type in that you are looking for a media kit design. You simply type “Media Kit” in the box. Then click on “media kit”.
When you have clicked on media kit, you end up on your design dashboard. On the left, you can see a lot of different designs that you can use to finally make one. You simply choose the best and this can, of course, vary per person.
If you have chosen one, then you drag that design to the white page that is ready for you. Then you can adjust this design to what you want. As you can see, I use a design by Ashley Williams. I adapt this design completely to what I want. For example, I adapt the logo and adjust the colors and photos.
You will eventually get this result. As you can see, I use a lot of pictures of myself. I do this because I want to create a connection with the company so I can have a great collaboration.

This is the other side of my document. Simple, but it does show what I stand for. I love clarity, so that’s why I have also put conditions in my document.
Well, it’s that simple. Now you have a document that you can change completely. As you can see, creating a media kit isn’t hard at all. Would you like to receive more designs for media kits and other freebies? Then quickly become a member of my newsletter.
