If you have a blog or a website, you naturally want it to be easily found in search engines, such as Google. There are a number of factors that ensure that your website scores well in Google. Most websites that come up first in the search results often have a high Domain Authority. In this blog, I will tell you what Domain Authority is and how you find out what your DA score is.
What is Domain Authority (DA)?
Value is very important. Domain Authority is the estimated value that is given to your domain. This search engine ranking has been developed by MoZ, one of the biggest giants in the field of SEO software. The software predicts the value of your domain between 1 and 100. The higher the number, the higher the value.
There are several factors that determine the value of a domain. How many links refer to your website? What is the quality of these links and the number of different ‘root domains’ that refer to your website.

What is a good Domain Authority score?
In practice, there is no such thing as a perfect Domain Authority score. Examples of websites with a DA score of (almost) 100 are Facebook, Wikipedia, and Amazon. As a blogger or company, it is unrealistic to compete with this. How do you determine what a good DA score is for you?
To determine what is a good score for you, it is important to look at the score of your competitors. You can find out how high your website scores with a specific search term via a handy MoZ tool. Here you also immediately see what the DA score is of the top 3. Is your website or blog among the first three? Then there is a greater chance that they will click on your link.
What is Page Authority (PA)?
Your PA score gives the value of a specific web page. The score indicates how well a certain page of your website or blog scores on Google. Just like with Domain Authority, the values are estimated between 1 and 100. The higher the score, the better you will be found.
What exactly is the difference between DA and PA? The biggest difference is that your Domain Authority measures the value of your entire website and the Page Authority measures the value per page. If you search for keywords via the MoZ tool, you will also see that there is a different PA per different page or blog, but always the same DA.

Why is a good DA and PA score so important?
It is, of course, ideal if your website or blogs are found via search engines. Most people click on one of the top three outcomes that Google shows. The higher your DA score and PA score, the higher you will be in the search results and people will reach your website faster via Google.
MOZ 2.0? What has changed?
Since March 5, 2019, Moz has made an important update, which has consequences for many websites. Some websites have improved positively, but the majority have dropped considerably in their Domain Authority. A comprehensive article with the changes to MOZ 2.0 will soon be available online.
