I am using Pinterest for over a year now and it is still the best choice I have ever made. Still, Pinterest is not only handy to promote your blog, but also to promote your webshop. You promote your webshop on Pinterest in another way than you promote your blog. Do you have a webshop and do you want more visitors and generate more sales? Promote your webshop with vertical pins
Make sure you use vertical pins. For example, you can make vertical pins with Canva or you can photograph your products vertically. Horizontal pins don’t stand out on Pinterest and that’s why it is definitely a big recommendation to make vertical pins.
Use bloggers to promote your webshop
Maybe you don’t want to use Pinterest at all and figure it out all by yourself. Then you have the possibility to work together with bloggers who use Pinterest. You can give a little amount of money for that, but you can also use affiliate links of course. If a blogger has bought your product, then they probably want to promote it as well with affiliate links. With affiliate links, the blogger receives a small commission over the sale at no cost to the buyer.
Tailwind is really a must when you are going to use Pinterest to promote your webshop. I actually directly started using Tailwind when I began with Pinterest and it is still a really good choice. In short, I will put some things in a row. Firstly, Tailwind has a SmartSchedule. This crunches your data and makes sure that your content is published at the best times to maximize engagement from your audience. Besides that, Tailwind has a browser extension which allows for scheduling Pins from Pinterest, as well as scheduling across the web. The bulk schedule is also a very handy function because this allows you to pin a lot of pins at once and it can save you a lot of time.
If you still don’t understand Tailwind, then Tailwind always has a good customer success team who really know their stuff. In the beginning, I just didn’t understand Tailwind at all, but the success team helped me to figure it out. So super handy!

Don’t only pins things from your webshop, but also from other pinners. Do you have a webshop which sells beauty products for example, then pin beauty products from other people to your boards. I recommend pinning 20% of yourself and 80% of other people. This way you will be sure your pins will stand out.
Always make a board where you only pin Pins from yourself. If you want an example of which boards you can make, then take a look at my Pinterest profile. Do you have a fashion shop for example, then you can make a board with your own product and besides that, make some other boards to pin Pins from other people. For example, you can make a summer clothes board, a winter, autumn and a spring clothes board.
Pins which stand out
Pins which stand out are a must. Don’t your pins stand out? Then you can better just stop pinning. When I just started pinning, I only used pastel tints and other light colors. That’s not very handy because those don’t stand out of course. When I changed the colors of my pins, I got a lot of new repins and besides that a lot of new visitors to my website. So make sure you use vertical pins with bright colors. Besides that, don’t put too much text in your pins, but enough text to put a call in action and to make people visit your webshop and make a sale. Your pins aren’t only important, but also the descriptions of your pins are really important. For example, you need to make sure that you have a lot of keywords in your description. If I make a pin about blogging tips, then I search on Pinterest to “blogging tips” and then I see all the relevant keywords which I can use in my descriptions. Very handy. Group boards are really a must-have when you are on Pinterest. These group boards are actually boards with a lot of people where you can share your Pins on. The Pins you share on here have a better opportunity to get repinned and to get viral. I am in around 50 group boards and they really help me to get more engagement and more visibility. Make sure that you are allowed to share your own products. Some group boards don’t allow webshops. This will state in the description.
When you know which group boards you want to join, then you need to send the owner an email. The email address is mostly in the description. You can also send the owner a message on Pinterest. I have two group boards, *Pin Your Blogs* and Beauty bloggers group board. For example, if you own beauty products, then you can promote these in the group beauty bloggers group board, but please read the rules. As for last, I recommend pinning frequently. I know a lot of web shop owners and bloggers who say they are going to use Pinterest, but then they just don’t, because they are too lazy. You can pin manually, but you can also use a Pinterest scheduler to do this. Just don’t forget to pin frequently and then you will definitely get more visitors and increase your sales.
