When I installed my new layout, I installed the plugin Imsanity. This plugin would make my pictures smaller without losing any quality. I figured something out and I am not very happy with this. That’s why I immediately deleted this plugin. So, are you resizing your pictures with a plugin?
Resizing your pictures with a plugin
I am a bit of a perfectionist and I notice it directly when something is worse than I made. Because of the plugin Imsanity, the quality of my pictures went down. This wasn’t the meaning of course and especially when I want that my pictures just look good. I was a bit lazy to resize the pictures and I thought that this plugin would do it for me, without I have to pay much effort. Well, this wasn’t the case. It resized the picture in pixels, but the quality went down more than when I just did it myself. Look at the example below.
This is the picture I have uploaded with Imsanity.
This is the picture I resized and uploaded myself.
Some of you won’t see the difference, but I see this clearly. I see that the letters of the upper picture are less clear than the bottom one. The bottom one is more clear.

The speed of my blog didn’t improve
They believe that the speed of my blog would improve when I would resize the picture with this plugin. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. I even got a couple of messages that my blog is super slow. After some testing and resizing the pictures, I figured out that these pictures slowed my blog down. This isn’t the meaning of course and that’s why I will resize my pictures with Photoshop. A little effort, because I edit my pictures in Photoshop as well.
