If you use WordPress, you can use a lot of great plugins. These plugins are very helpful, but of course, you have to choose the right ones. This is the reason why I list the best WordPress plugins. These plugins will certainly help to improve your blog and thus explode your blog traffic.
The best WordPress plugins
404page – your smart custom 404 page
It is really a must to have your own custom 404 page. You can do this with this plugin. Do you want to know how to do that exactly? Then read my blog post about this.
Akismet
Spam comments are really irritating. It is certainly a recommendation to download Akismet. On my other blog, this plugin has prevented a lot of spam comments and I’m really happy with that. So at least I don’t have to manually delete all these spam comments.
Contact form 7
Every blogger needs a contact form on her website. This can be done with the plugin Contact Form 7. This is the most used contact form plugin and it works great.
Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP)
Google Analytics is really a must for every blogger. I have already tested many plugins for Google Analytics, but this plugin really came out as one of the best WordPress plugins.

Redirection
Redirection is a plugin with which you can make redirects. Yet I don’t think this is the most important thing about this plugin. This plugin shows my 404 pages this is really useful. As a result, I have found a lot of 404 pages that I actually couldn’t have known without this plugin. Definitely a recommendation!
Ultimate Nofollow
Nofollow links are a must. For example, you should use nofollow links for affiliate links, but also if you work with companies. Unfortunately, WordPress doesn’t have the option to make a nofollow link easily. This plugin adds a simple option to make a link nofollow and this way you don’t have to use HTML to make a nofollow link.
UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore
Most people forget to make a backup of the database. Actually, this is the most important part of your blog. The database contains all your blog posts. With this plugin you can set an interval to make a backup of your database every hour, every day, every week or every month. This will then automatically be sent to your email address.
W3 Total Cache
It is really important to improve your blog speed. How annoying is it to end up on a very slow website? Well, that’s super annoying for sure. With this cache plugin, you will definitely improve your website speed.

Wordfence Security
Do you want to secure your website? Well, you do that with this plugin! This plugin provides a lot of improvements in your security. For example, it blocks too many login attempts and it also shows where you can improve your blog. It also indicates that you have to update your plugins and more.
WPML Multilingual CMS
I really like WPML. WPML makes my website bilingual. As you can see, my blog is available in English and Dutch. Well, I did that with WPML.
